Introduction
Skysay is agent-native telephony — real phone numbers, calls, and SMS an AI agent runs on its own over MCP.
Skysay is agent-native telephony: real phone numbers, calls, and SMS that an AI agent can run on its own. Connect a supported client through MCP, or use the API from your own application. Public docs explain setup, permissions and the tools your credential can use.
Start with a read-only connection
Use https://api.skysay.ai/mcp/read-only with account:read and the recipe
for your actual client. Verify an authenticated account_overview result
before enabling phone actions.
What is Skysay?
Skysay gives your agents the phone side of the world: search number coverage, wire an agent to a number, place an authorized outbound call, read recordings and transcripts, and send SMS — all behind one scoped API key that is also your permission boundary. Numbers, compliance, billing, and provider operations stay on the Skysay side; your agent gets the capability tools and nothing else.
Looking for a number first? Phone numbers for AI agents introduces numbers in 100+ countries for personal calls, businesses, and apps, with MCP, API, and workspace setup options. Availability, supported features, and registration requirements depend on the number you choose.
Connect your client
Use hosted HTTP MCP directly. Start with a narrow credential and a read-only check; you do not need a private source checkout or local bridge. Choose the recipe matching your client:
Claude Code
Connect with an environment-variable key or OAuth and verify a read.
Codex
Configure hosted HTTP MCP and check an authenticated result.
REST API
Use REST when you do not need an MCP client.
Quickstart explains the scopes, verification and next steps. Read-only access does not provision numbers or contact people. Enable a billable workflow only after reviewing its permissions, funding, policy and exact human approval. Browser audio tests and real phone calls have different funding and activation requirements.
