After the call

The free AI call summary on the Calls page, the call goal it is judged against, and the result fields each AI agent pulls out of its calls.

After a call with a conversation, Skysay writes a short AI summary of it. You read it in Calls: in the list's Goal and Summary columns, and at the top of the call's details. What it is judged against and which facts are pulled out of each call are set on the AI agent, in its After the call section.

Every field in the summary is an AI estimate. Skysay never uses it to retry a call, block a number, bill or change do-not-call. The call's status, who answered (a person, voicemail or a phone menu) and its duration are platform facts and are not part of the summary.

What the summary says

FieldWhat it holds
SummaryOne to three sentences.
Follow-up neededYes or no, with one line saying what still has to happen.
Goal metYes, partly, no or unclear, with one line saying why.
SentimentHow the other person seemed: positive, neutral, negative or unclear.

The summary is free and on for every AI agent, existing ones included. It is made by Google Gemini from the call transcript after the call ends, and it is written in English, whatever language the call was in. A call that reached a voicemail greeting or a phone menu is summarised from what was transcribed, and the summary says that no person took part.

Set the call goal

Open Agents, choose the AI agent and select After the call.

Call goal is one optional line, for example "Find out if the store has the item, its price and today's closing time." Goal met is judged against it. When it is empty, Goal met is judged against the AI agent's own instructions, as published, never against the values a single call filled in. The call details say which one was used: "Judged against your call goal" or "Judged against the AI agent's instructions".

A goal line is at most 4,000 characters. A change applies to calls whose transcript arrives after you save; calls already summarised keep their summary.

Turn the summary off for one AI agent

In After the call, switch AI call summary off and save. Calls this AI agent makes or takes from then on get no summary. Summaries already written stay until their transcript is deleted.

Read summaries on the Calls page

The list has two columns for it:

  • Goal: Met, Partly, Not met or Unclear. A dash means the call has no summary.
  • Summary: the summary itself, with "Follow-up needed." added when one is.

Open a call and the Details tab starts with the Call summary card: the summary, chips for goal met, follow-up and sentiment, the follow-up line, why the goal was or was not met, and what it was judged against. On a phone, each row of the list repeats its goal and the start of its summary under the row. The AI agent's result fields follow directly under it. The call facts, recording and transcript come after them.

A call that has no summary says why:

ShownWhy
Summarising…The transcript has arrived and the summary is being written. The page updates on its own.
Not answeredThe call never connected (no answer, busy, or it failed). No summary is made.
No conversationThe call connected but the other side did not speak. No summary is made.
Not enough transcriptThe other party spoke, but too little of it was transcribed to summarise.
Summary failedThe summary could not be written.
No summaryThe AI agent has summaries off, or the call is older than call summaries.

Summaries are deleted with the call's transcript, when the recording is deleted or its retention ends.

The same summary is available to code with GET /v1/calls/{call_id}/summary and the MCP tool get_call_summary; see the generated API reference.

Result fields

Result fields are facts Skysay pulls out of every completed call for this AI agent, such as whether the store had the item or the price it quoted. They are shown in the call's details and sent in the call.extraction.ready webhook (see Post-call results). They are an AI estimate too, kept apart from the summary, and free.

They used to be set as raw JSON on the Integrations page. They are now edited in the AI agent's After the call section; existing fields were kept as they are, and the Integrations page links to each AI agent's section.

For each field you set:

  • Name: letters, digits and underscores, at most 80 characters. Your systems receive the value under this name.
  • Type: text, number, whole number, or yes / no.
  • What to look for: a description the AI reads, at most 600 characters.
  • Choices (optional, for text): the only values the field may take, separated by commas. At most 50, each at most 120 characters.
  • Required: whether every result must include it.

An AI agent has up to 24 fields. Use a template adds a starting set (store errand, appointment, lead qualification, payment reminder, support triage); it adds only fields you do not have yet. Edit as JSON shows the same fields as a JSON schema, for pasting or bulk edits.

Each save that changes the fields creates a new version. Calls already analysed keep the version they used; a save that changes nothing creates no version. Removing every field and saving turns result fields off for new calls.

Coming later

Paid extras are not part of this release: a stronger analysis model for long calls, scorecards with several pass/fail criteria, and re-analysing past calls after you change fields. Each will show its price per call before it can be turned on.
